C

Calibration

The act of adjusting a device to bring its behaviour into accordance with a known specification. For example, monitors are calibrated to a specific colour temperature, gamma, and black and white luminance. Calibration is typically accomplished by measuring the behaviour of a device with an instrument such as a colorimeter or densitometer, comparing the measured behaviour with the standard to which the device is being calibrated, then adjusting the device so that it behaves in accordance with that standard.

DIN 1 machines cut paper in strips (strip-cut). The strip can be up to 12mm wide. These shredders cut an A4 paper into 40 strips.

DIN 2

DIN2 machines cut paper in strips (strip-cut), but the strip is under 6mm in width. These shredders cut an A4 paper into 100 strips.

DIN 3

DIN 3 machines cut paper in either 2mm-wide strips (strip-cut) or in pieces of

IP Fax

Fax method, also known as ITU-T T.38 (‘Real Time’), that uses the IP network (vs the analogue PSTN network) for data transmission.
An IP Fax works like a G3 fax, but instead of an fax number, you enter the IP address (or host name) of another IP Fax.
The benefits of an IP Fax (over a G3 Fax) are cost reduction (no telephone charges) and speed (network vs modem).
Like a ‘standard’ fax, there is a direct (real time) connection between the IP Fax devices, hence an IP Fax message is considered a legal document.
